Who we are

More than six years ago, a question was born that still guides everything we do: how can we bring quality education to people that traditional models simply fail to reach?

While much of digital education moved toward increasingly complex platforms, millions of people in Latin America kept facing barriers that seemed invisible to everyone else: limited connectivity, no access to computers, low levels of digital literacy, or work schedules that didn’t allow them to log in to a virtual classroom.

That’s how La Teacher was born…

What began as an initiative to bring learning opportunities to underserved communities grew into a partnership with social organizations, companies, and institutions that shared the same vision and faced the same challenge: reaching further and creating real impact.

Today we design inclusive education experiences that expand access to learning and show that education can reach further when it is designed around people’s real lives.

Our team

Marcela Salinas

Industrial engineer with an MBA and founder of La Teacher, with more than 7 years of experience in social entrepreneurship and education. Passionate about technology with purpose, she created La Teacher with the conviction that access to education should not depend on a computer or a stable internet connection. Under her leadership, the platform has supported the learning of more than 20,000 students in underserved communities through conversational solutions on WhatsApp that remove technological barriers and open doors where there were none before.

Software engineer specialized in the design and implementation of information systems and web platforms. As CTO of La Teacher, he leads the technology architecture that makes education through WhatsApp possible, building robust, scalable, and accessible solutions for communities with limited connectivity. His command of languages such as Golang, PHP, and JavaScript, frameworks such as Laravel, AWS services, and both relational and non-relational database engines allows him to build the infrastructure that supports the learning of thousands of students every day.

Our Values

Accessibility first

We believe learning shouldn’t depend on having a computer, stable internet, or advanced tech skills. We design every solution with those who need it most in mind.

Innovation with meaning

We use technology not because it’s trendy, but because it solves concrete problems. The simplicity of WhatsApp is our most powerful tool.

Impact with purpose

Every course, every message, every student counts. We measure our success by the real transformation in the communities we support.

Trust and transparency

We deal honestly with our students and our partners alike. Consistency between what we say and what we do is our foundation.
